Historic timeline
- The building opened in December 1929 as the Commodore Cabaret.
- Up until 1969 the ballroom featured the famous acts of the day with its sprung dance floor. Sammy Davis Jr. played The Commodore in 1948 with other notable acts such as Duke Ellington and Tommy Dorsey.
- In 1969 Drew Burns took over the management of The Commodore, transforming it into a major rock'n'roll venue.
- The Commodore was the location of a popular St. Patrick's Day concert hosted by the Celtic rock band Spirit of the West, and was the location of their final concert in April 2016.
