Video description

Audio recording of Queen playing live in Toronto in 1977 at Maple Leaf Gardens.

After the second song Freddie was quite pleased that the band had finally made it to Toronto, after their Massey Hall shows in 1974 and '75 were cancelled due to Brian May's respective health issues. There were some great lines from Mercury throughout the show, such as on White Queen and You Take My Breath Away. This was definitely one of his stronger shows of the period, nailing the vocal solo on Somebody To Love with precision and retaining many of the higher notes he usually avoided. Musically it was a fairly flawless outing for the band as well.

One fan recalled the excitement of seeing Brian May's tech with his flashlight guiding him around the stage in the dark, and how loud the explosion was at the start of Tie Your Mother Down. He added that during Thin Lizzy's opening set, part of Jailbreak, Phil Lynott kicked one of Queen's monitors and said, "We'll let Freddie and the crew worry about that."
