This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2022 Polestar 2 Dual Motor AWD premium electric sedan. Modern and minimalistic, the Polestar 2 AWD model!

This AWD sedan has a 300 kw dual motor with 408 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. It gets up to 418 km/260 miles of range and goes 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

The Polestar 2 comes with plenty of standard features and is priced really well at $58,950 CAD/$53,300 USD which means it qualifies for the Federal EV rebate of $5,000 in Canada. Unfortunately, it no longer qualifies for a tax credit in the US. The Polestar 2 comes standard with an 11.2” touchscreen with Google’s Android Automotive Services, a 12.3” digital driver display, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, heated front seats, power driver and passenger seats, 8-speaker audio system, a foot activated tailgate, LED headlights with active high beam and LED taillights, 19” wheels and front and rear park assist. Our test model Polestar 2 has a few extras including the Plus Pack $5,700 CAD/$4,200 USD. That package includes features like a heat pump, the Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats and a wireless charger. It also has the addition of the Nappa leather light grey interior for $5,000 CAD/$4,000 USD.

The Polestar 2 EV offers some great front row legroom, it has about the same room as the Model 3 but more than the BMW i4. It doesn’t have as much second row legroom as the i4 and Model 3, the Tesla offers the most. Overall cargo capacity, the Polestar 2 has 15.5 cubic feet or 439L of space, less than the i4 and Model 3, the Tesla has the most at 19.8 cubic feet or 561L. With a DC fast charger, the Polestar 2 can charge from 10-80% within 35 minutes and with a Level 2 charger, 8 hours for a full charge. It can tow up to 2,000 pounds and Polestar offers a warranty of 4 years or 80,000 km/50,000 miles.
