Video description

The Bond Bug, an orange, wedge shaped, fibreglass bodied mini three wheeled sports car was an attempt to shake off the geriatric, working class image of Reliant's Regal, but would soon be faced with the harrowing prospect that there really was no market for a three-wheeled sports car.

The car was fitted with a 700cc Reliant light-alloy 4-cylinder engine with 29hp and a 0-60 time of 20 seconds and a top speed of 76 mph (122 km/hr). The video covers the three models - the base 700, the 700E deluxe that added a telescopic canopy damper, side screens, heater, and updated interior. And the 700ES with a higher compression engine, spare wheel, wing mirrors, mud flaps and a racing steering wheel.

Between its introduction in 1970 and end of production in May 1974 2,268 vehicles were sold, with focus shifted back to the Reliant Robin.
