More details
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II drove many Land Rovers - both state vehicles, as well as personal vehicles.Perhaps the most famous story of the Queen driving comes from 1998 when the Queen offered the Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia a tour of the grounds of her Balmoral estate. To his shock, she climbed into the driver's seat himself at a time when women were strictly prohibited from driving in Saudi Arabia (a ban that was not lifted until 2018). In this case the Queen was driving a 1983 Land Rover 110 V8 (also known as a "One Ten").
