De La Salle - Oaklands

A historic Catholic private school in Deer Park was an all-boys school until 1994, and is now roughly 50-50 split between boys and girls. The school calls the Oaklands Mansion on Avenue Road home.

De La Salle locations

The school has had numerous locations before its current location, including:

1863 on Jarvis Street, originally called the Christian Brothers Commercial Academy.
1871 constructed a new building on Duke Street (258 Adelaide St. East today), and the name was changed to De La Salle Institute
1874 purchased the former post office next door then expanded to include the Bank of Upper Canada building as well
1913 took over part of the 67 Bond Street building adjacent to St. Michael's Cathedral
In 1931 the school moved one last time, to its current location

The current campus has approximately 680 students and teaches boys and girls in grades 5 through 12.
