October 2007 Glendon Forest update - construction and salmon

We went for a hike in the Glendon Forest today, north of Sunnybrook, south of the York University Glendon College campus. Some nice red and yellow fall colours, but more interestingly, they are improving parts of the trail (that, plus we saw a huge dead Salmon in the Don River).

The path is still passable during the construction, but there is a large stone retaining wall being built along the section of trail that was really muddy after any rain. Here is a photo from the photo page from that hike which is along the Don River right about here:

Speaking of photos, there was also a very large, very dead salmon in a shallow part of the river just across from the horse stables:

It is amazing to see the size of some of the fish in the Don River!
