Geomorphological features

  • Cambering – water in crevices freeze then thaw, expanding the crevice – many places along the Bruce Trail, but in particular the Splitrock Narrows
  • Kame – conical hill – Murphy’s Pinnacle Side Trail in the Boyne Valley
  • Pothole – a smooth, bowl-shaped hollow carved into rock as a result of a flowing river – Niagara Glen Nature Reserve (old) – also known as a kettle, evorsion, hollow, rock mill, eddy mill, churn hole, and a knolk.
