It was built by Major-General Sir Henry Mill Pellatt over a three-year period from 1911-1914. It was designed as a neo-romantic castle by E. J. Lennox who also designed Toronto\'s Old City Hall and the King Edward Hotel. Casa Loma, its 5 acres of gardens, underground tunnels, and two secret passages are open to the public to explore and enjoy.
