Bedford Park Hotel

The Bedford Park Hotel was built in 1873 by Charles McBride (a previous owner of Montgomery Tavern among others) who used building materials from Finch's Hotel which he tore down just for this purpose. The two story building served as a hotel until 1908 when the area prohibited the sale of alcohol. Around 1915 it became the first home of the Fairlawn Avenue United Church, and slowly disappeared behind commercial buildings along Yonge Street. It was finally torn down in the mid-1970s.
