Historic photos from around The Annex, TorontoJust north of the University of Toronto, the affulent Annex neighbourhood was developed in the 1880s and 1890s. Many of the beautiful Victorian and Edwardian homes and mansions have survivied, but their size have meant they have often been subdivided. The architect E.J. Lennox designed 'Annex style' brick and sandstone homes with distinctive turrets and rounded arches; a style which was then imitated.List of all areas in Toronto or take a look at the historic photos by date. A subset of the photos have also been arranged by subject. Tweet |
